Monarch (or Swamp) Rose Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) is the perfect addition to a consistently damp place in the garden, like a rain garden or alongside a stream. Her roots can handle the moisture, and her blooms bring in the Monarch butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees for a drink of nectar. Her scented flowers look like lacy shooting stars facing upward to hail down all manner of pollinators. Her height is tall enough to show off at 3-4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. She'll produce blooms from early to late summer. Enjoy her seed pods in the autumn as they send off fluffy seed pods for naturalization.
